Fiora, the Grand Duelist
Overview:
Fiora's VGU is generally the bar I hold Riot's new designs to - a thematically-driven kit with clear strengths and weaknesses, and an exciting tool to master that is unique to them. Her update was executed with such finesse that I consider it to be steps ahead of my initial redesign...With a few exceptions.
These exceptions are small, of course, namely being that her current E isn't particularly exciting (and doesn't interact with her kit where you'd expect it to), and her Ult gives her massive teamfight utility despite her theme and kit heavily favoring a solo duelist playstyle.
-
The changes I'm proposing to these two abilities are fairly mild and don't really affect her current playstyle, with Bladework still acting as a flexible tool that can help Fiora position to strike a vital or reward her if one is already within reach, and then allow her to quickly reposition for another strike or disengage so she can wait for a better opening.
Grand Challenge, on the other hand, no longer allows her to heal her team to full but is more flexible and fulfills its role as a keystone for her solo duelist playstyle. The new disarm/silence effect after two Vitals provides a defensive fallback pattern (allowing her to briefly but deftly shut down an enemy marksman, for example), while buying her some time to hit the remaining two Vitals and finish the bout in style.
All values in blue are meant to give a general idea of the ability's properties, and are subject to change.
Class: Skirmisher
Recommended Positions: Solo Sidelane, Solo Midlane
Complexity: Low
Innate: Duelist's Dance
Fiora identifies the Vitals of nearby visible enemy champions, marked as an arc around themselves. Vitals take 1.75 seconds to become targetable and linger for 13.25 seconds while Fiora remains within 1600 units of the target. After a Vital is triggered or times out, Fiora identifies a new one on her target.
Successful basic attacks and damaging abilities against a Vital trigger it to deal 2.5% +
(4.5 per 100 bonus AD)% of the target's maximum health as true damage, heal Fiora for
40 to 115 (based on level), and grant her 20/30/40/50% (based on Grand Challenge's rank) bonus movement speed that decays over 1.5 seconds.
Q: Lunge
Fiora dashes in the target direction and stabs a nearby enemy if one is present, dealing 70/80/90/100/110 + (95/100/105/110/115% bonus AD) physical damage and applying on-hit effects. Stabbing an enemy reduces Lunge's cooldown by 60%.
Lunge can damage structures and wards.
Range: 400 (dash range), 400 (stab range)
Targeting Type: Skill Shot - Line
Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8
Cost: 20/25/30/35/40 mana
W: Riposte
Fiora poises to strike in the target direction, becoming invulnerable to non-turret damage as well as gaining crowd control and debuff immunity for the next 0.75 seconds. Fiora cannot perform other actions while poised.
After the duration, Fiora stabs her sword forward, dealing 110/150/190/230/270 +
(50% base AD) physical damage to enemies in a line.
The first enemy champion struck is also slowed by 50% for 2 seconds and has their attack speed reduced by the same amount for the duration. If Fiora parries at least one immobilizing effect, Riposte stuns the target for the same duration instead.
Range: 750
Targeting Type: Skill Shot - Line
Cooldown: 24/22/20/18/16
Cost: 50 mana
E: Bladework
Fiora's next basic attack or Lunge within 4 seconds ignores 40/45/50/55/60% of the target's armor. If Bladework damages a Vital, it triggers 140/145/150/155/160% of Duelist's Dance's damage and healing effects. Otherwise, the target is slowed by 30% for 1 second.
Afterwards, if Bladework damaged a Vital, or if Fiora damages a Vital within 2 seconds, her next movement input causes her to dash 400 units in the target direction, increased by 50% when dashing away from an enemy champion.
Range: Self
Targeting Type: None
Cooldown: 11/9.5/8/6.5/5
Cost: 40 mana
R: Grand Challenge
Fiora challenges the target enemy champion for 8 seconds, highlighting their four Vitals after a 0.5 second delay. While in effect, Duelist's Dance does not identify new Vitals on Fiora's target.
While near the target, Fiora gains Duelist's Dance's bonus movement speed.
If she triggers two Vitals, Fiora will Disarm and Silence her target for 1.75/2/2.25 seconds. If she triggers all four, she will pierce her target's heart, triggering a final Vital and refreshing Grand Challenge's cooldown by 30/50/70%.
Range: 500 (target range), 600 (movement speed proximity)
Targeting Type: Targeted
Cooldown: 110/90/70
Cost: 100 mana
