Twisted Fate, the Card Master
As perhaps one of the most unique among the original 40 champions, Twisted Fate still leaves a distinct impression over a decade and 100+ champions later. In my initial redesign, I wanted to keep (and double down on) his unique preparation-based gameplay while providing more decision-making opportunities, but ended up discarding one of his core areas of skill expression - Wild Cards.
This (re)redesign aims to right those wrongs, while preserving the Card Master's strengths when he's able to stack his deck and load his dice before jumping into fights. I'll also be taking this as an opportunity to add a bit more gameplay to his Innate, as it currently isn't particularly exciting.
By changing Wild Card (just one, now!) back into a skillshot and allowing him to prep it and "load" his Pick a Card effect into it, this iteration of the ability should be the best of both worlds (while making his effectiveness in fights a little more intentional).
His new Innate, The Long Con, still provides Twisted Fate with a little extra walking-around money, but plays even more into his prep-based identity while also gaining a skill expression component. Pulling it away from a last-hitting bonus should also encourage a more roam- and gank-heavy playstyle, a natural fit for his kit.
All values in blue are meant to give a general idea of the ability's properties, and are subject to change.
Recommended Positions: Solo Midlane, Duo Sidelane (Support)
Innate: The Long Con
After not attacking for 3 seconds, Twisted Fate begins hatching a plan to swindle his next mark, gaining a stack of Forged Luck every 0.7 seconds (up to 42). Upon damaging an enemy champion with a basic attack or ability, Twisted Fate will cash in all stacks of Forged Luck for
1 to 6 (based on level) gold each.
If Twisted Fate is damaged by an enemy champion, his plan is foiled, removing all stacks of Forged Luck.

W: Pick a Card

The Gold Card deals 15/22.5/30/37.5/45 + (100% total AD) + (50% AP) magic damage and stuns the target for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds.
The first card is chosen at random, but always cycles in the above order. The card may be chosen while crowd controlled.
